Martha Harris Myron

INTERNATIONAL Finance Journalist

I've written more than 1,500 finance articles - since 1999 - for numerous local and international publications, authored the First Bermuda financial literacy primer and am now producing short interactive financial educational videos with numerous professional friends, experts in finance , law, economics, history, conservation and more. It is so much fun to share knowledge, particularly when relative to Bermuda's highly complex financial environment as one of the leading global risk and insurance jurisdictions on the planet.

This is my personal voluntary mission to my beloved ancestral home, the Island of Bermuda

GOOGLE News changed its article selection process in 2016 - where at that time, one had to apply to contribute any journalistic work.

Google noted that they would now choose articles relevant to their product from anywhere in the world.

To my complete surprise, I stumbled on one of my articles a few months later when scrolling through Google News on my iPhone.

Indeed, at first, it was so astonishing - that I thought someone else nationally known had authored the work.

Since that time, Google News has consistently carried anywhere from 30 - 100 of my finance journalist columns!

Bernews launched on March 1st, 2010 becoming the first media outlet to offer 24/7 news coverage of the island.

Owned and operated by Patricia Burchall and the Burchall family, Bernews has evolved from a small one-person website to the leading online news provider on the island with more than 300,000 social media followers.

Bernews is now carrying my articles with links to Bermuda Pondstraddler Finance Media YouTube productions.

Founded in 1828, The Royal Gazette is Bermuda’s only daily print newspaper, publishing every day except Sunday and public holidays.

With daily print readership of more than 20,000 and more than 25,000 daily website users, The Royal Gazette has the deepest and broadest reach of any Bermuda news organisation.

The Royal Gazette aims to cover the whole community fairly and accurately and to be an independent voice. It is not affiliated with any political party but is a member of the Media Council of Bermuda.

Every day, The Royal Gazette covers the latest local and overseas news, as well as sport, business, lifestyle and opinion. The Royal Gazette is owned by The Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd., the Island’s leading media group.

I wrote a weekly financial planning column for more than 24 years for the Gazette. It was an amazing experience, personally rewarding, and intellectually aspirational. I went from sort of a hack, to what I feel from feedback, an accomplished finance writer. RG has my gratitude forever.

William D. Richardson, a former New Yorker magazine editor who was residing in Bermuda, launched The Bermudian magazine in February 1930.

The Bermudian set out to be, in his words, “a magazine devoted to Bermuda and Bermuda life.”

In the very early days, the magazine was strongly focused on visitors, with photographs and features about honeymooners, information about where visitors stayed and how they spent their holidays.
